Our Board

Cris Gaut – Chairman

Cris began his career with Amoco in 1980, after receiving his MBA from Wharton and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Dartmouth College. With Amoco, Cris worked in London and Chicago.

In 1987 Cris joined Ensco International, an offshore drilling company based in Dallas, as Chief Financial Officer. He was with Ensco for 16 years as CFO and later as co-President and Chief Operating Officer. In 2003 Cris joined Halliburton Company as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, and in 2007 he became Halliburton’s President of Drilling and Evaluation, managing globally six of Halliburton’s product service lines with over US$8 billion in revenue and over 20,000 employees.

Cris retired from Halliburton in 2009 and joined Houston-based private equity firm SCF Partners as a Managing Director. Cris was elected to Reservoir Group’s Board of Directors as Chairman in February 2010

Pascal Bartette – Chief Executive Officer

Beginning his professional life at the age of 16 in the armament industry in Tarbes, Pascal moved into the oil and gas industry in 1980 with Forasol/Foramer. He transferred to the oilfield service industry, about two years later, joining Milchem.

The 1983 downturn in the industry provided an opportunity for him to sign with Diamant Boart – a new coring and drill bit business based in Pau, France – as a coring and bit hand. For the following 16 years Pascal rose to become Regional Manager of the Middle East and Mediterranean region before transferring to a similar position in Latin America.

These different assignments led him to Sicily, Milan, Cairo, Dubai, Venezuela and Houston, enabling him to build a strong international network and master a number of languages.

This, combined with his technical abilities, proven record and industry knowledge, saw Pascal appointed as a new Managing Director by 3i to lead an MBO of Corpro Systems Ltd in 1999.

At that time Corpro was operating almost exclusively in the North Sea and was affected by the slowdown in activity. With the help of a qualified and energetic team, Pascal realigned the business and grew it almost 20 fold in just over eight years.

In 2007, 3i decided to exit Corpro and Pascal led an MBO, financed by SCF Partners, to form the foundations for Reservoir Group.

Pascal is married with four children and is resident in Dubai.

Rick Clark – Chief Financial Officer

A chartered accountant, Rick studied economics and accountancy at Dundee University then trained as a CA in the city with KPMG. He then moved office to Zurich in 1987, where he spent two years focused on multinational and UK non-resident companies. Thereafter, a transfer to London led him to specialise for a spell in privatisation projects – both in the UK and Eastern Europe.

In 1991, he returned to Scotland, was promoted to partner, and during the subsequent 15 years held a number of senior management roles – covering IT, quality control, training and graduate recruitment – as well as leading the audit of many listed and private companies, and advising on a wide range of M&A activity. In his latter years with KPMG, his client base included a range of companies in the oilfield services sector.

Rick joined Reservoir Group in 2007 as Finance Director.

He is married with three children and now lives in Aberdeen.

David Clark - VP Corporate Development

David completed a degree in Chemistry with New Materials Technology at Aberdeen University and in 2000 joined KPMG to train as a chartered accountant to gain a wider business grounding. In 2007 David transferred to the Bank of Scotland to assist in equity investments in the oilfield services space.

Following an approach from two former colleagues, David joined Reservoir Group in 2008 to support and ultimately lead the acquisition growth of Reservoir Group.

He is married with two children and now lives in Aberdeen.
